About Me

My name is Dr. Jennifer Cox, and I am an associate professor at Salisbury University. I worked for several years as a newspaper journalist at various papers in Florida, including The Stuart NewsNaples Daily News, and The Orlando Sentinel. Most recently, I was a multimedia intern at WashingtonPost.com, where I produced and edited multimedia packages for The Loudoun Extra. I am also a freelance multimedia journalist for The Daily Times here in Salisbury.

I received my doctorate from the University of Florida. I received my master’s degree as a Knight Fellow from the University of Alabama. I double-majored in journalism and public relations at Appalachian State University. Go Mountaineers!

I am married to a fellow journalist, Jeremy Cox, who now works for The Chesapeake Bay Journal. We have a smart, funny, cool daughter, Charlie, and three dachshunds, Oscar, Nacho and Doug. In my spare time, I enjoy surfing, playing tennis and volleyball and traveling.
